Appropriate and good surface preparation significantly increases the top coat life and durability. Deploy skilled/experienced individuals for the application of paint. A few general instructions are given below.
New or Bare Surfaces: Surface to be painted must be dry, clean and free from all contamination. Wipe with Duralex Universal Thinner to remove dirt, grease and wax. Scuff with suitable sand paper to remove rust. Wipe with Duralex Universal Thinner and apply Duralex Grey Oxide Primer. Allow the surface to dry out completely, scuff the surface with suitable sand paper and dust off.
Galvanized and Aluminum Surfaces: New Galvanized and aluminum surfaces should be cleaned and degreased, then pre-treated with an appropriate pre-treatment primer to ensure good adhesion.
Previously Painted Sound Surfaces: Previously painted sound surfaces must be thoroughly rubbed down using a suitable sand paper and dust off. Remove all loose scale, defective paint and rust by thorough scraping and wire brushing. Spot prime with Duralex Grey Oxide Primer and allow the surface to dry out completely. Scuff with suitable sand paper and dust off.
Finishing: After surface preparation apply 2-3 coats of recommended Duralex top coat. Ensure complete drying between successive coats. Thinning ratio must be followed for application procedure.
